At WMCC a child’s education is a joint venture between the home and the school, the parents, the children and the teachers. The Centre expects, and indeed relies on you to become involved in your child’s education. As with all non-profit co-operative centres, our parents donate time in a variety of ways in order to keep costs down.

There are two channels of involvement. One of these is through the Executive Board of Directors. A less formal channel is through your direct involvement in the Centre. This can be as a parent assistant at lunch or as a resource person offering program enrichment in the classroom.

school/community gatherings

Social gatherings and celebrations are held throughout the year. These events give you a chance to meet other parents, meet the children your child is talking about, become familiar with the Centre and its wide variety of equipment and get to know the staff when they are not teaching or supervising children.

AIA Christmas Boutique
The AIA is transformed into a Christmas Boutique for one weekend each December. Waterfront Montessori always runs a table where we sell crafts made by the children to support a selected charity. Parent volunteers are asked to support WMCC by volunteering at the table for a shift.

Thanksgiving Tea
Every year we invite parents and friends out to the school just before Thanksgiving to celebrate the season and give everyone a chance to meet each other.
